St Annes Beef

Method
- In a heat resistant casserole dish, fry the beef in the sunflower oil and butter until brown.
- Sprinkle the plain flour over the beef, stir well and fry for a further minute.
- Add the hot beef stock, stirring continuously.
- Add all the remaining ingredients.
- Cover with a lid and pop in the oven for 4 hours.
- Serve with creamy mashed potatoes and green vegetables.

- 2lb/900g braising steak - cubed
- 3 tbspn rapeseed oil
- 1oz/28g butter
- 1.5 tbspn plain flour
- 1 pint / 20 fl oz hot beef stock
- 3 tbspn Henderson's Relish (or Worcestershire Sauce)
- jar of Mrs Darlington's Redcurrant Jelly
- 8oz/225g button mushrooms, washed and left whole
- Seasoning
