Intwood Farm is a 450-acre mixed arable and livestock farm on the outskirts of Norwich, Norfolk.
Since we acquired the farm in 2010 our herd of 30 cows and calves has increased to about 300 today, primarily by retaining the female animals born each year. We have also always kept a small number of rare pigs on the farm and sheep were introduced in 2018.
We are passionate about our animals and are proud members of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Animal welfare is paramount and our cattle, sheep and pigs are dispatched at an abattoir less than 20 minutes from our farm, reducing stress caused by transport.

A strong and growing demand for our meat products from private customers prompted us to expand our service by converting a redundant dairy into a state-of-the-art butchery, which opened at Intwood Farm in March 2020.
As well as raising animals, our light-land farm grows barley, potatoes, sugar beet, maize and rape, as well as stubble turnips providing winter grazing for cattle and sheep. The increase in the number of animals on the farm has enhanced the level of fertility and improved soil structure. As a result arable cropping has been significantly enhanced.
Intwood Farm is a very special place that includes environmentally sensitive areas of wild orchids and ancient woodland. It also boasts a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is in Defra’s Higher-Level Stewardship scheme.
