The sheep have finished lambing, all are now out on the fields enjoying the milder weather, spring calving continues.
The arable contractors have been busy over the last few weeks in particular with potatoes. The land at Intwood is especially suited to potatoes, as having cattle on the farm enhances the organic matter in the soil leading to excellent sustainable farming practices.
This was the amazing scene from our window last week; the machines are travelling up the field de-stoning. In order to get the best crop and reduce damage and waste, the baulks are de-stoned so the potatoes grow in the best soil.
