It’s been an exciting time on the farm; we’re very pleased to welcome Geri to the team to assist Paul looking after the livestock, this also means Paul can have a very well earned break! Geri has been busy fencing new fields for the lambs and getting them all out to grass.

We have also taken delivery of a new tractor. After many years of loyal service our existing Kubota was starting to struggle; especially through the winter months the tractor is used several times a day to get feed to the cattle, we just cannot be without it.

Some of you may also know that Nigel runs a commercial bull breeding programme here on the farm. This is separate from the butchery and involves different breeds of cattle. We’re delighted to report that our pedigree Simmental bull, Blue Cedar King Kong is going to be used by UK Sires. Bred by Nigel here at Intwood, he’s an exceptional example of the breed. Weighing in at over 1,200kgs already (he’s not fully grown yet!) he has the sweetest temperament, we all love having him in the yard. UK sires have interest in his semen from as far away as America and Australia, Nigel is understandably very proud.
