Phil and the team have been busy bringing back the Highlands and Herefords from their Summer grazing. They’re in the top field here at the farm, opposite the shop. You can see them as you come to the top of the drive, grazing on the turnip cover crop we planted for this purpose. This month all of the cattle will be tested under the “HiHealth Herdcare Scheme”. This is quite an undertaking as it involves blood testing each animal, screening for potentially harmful diseases. Let’s hope the weather is better for us this year as it absolutely teemed down with rain all day last year.
